On Mar. 24, in a prestigious ceremony in the presence of leadership team of the Shanghai Municipal Government, Prof. Vincent Deubel was honored with award for his remarkable contribution for international science and technology cooperation. Prof. Deubel is one of two scientists honored with this category of award.
In October 2004, Prof. Deubel was nominated the Director General of Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPS-CAS) where he assumes administrative and scientific functions. Thanks to the wise leadership of Prof. Deubel and his Chinese partners, IPS-CAS has made remarkable progress with international recognition in a very short period through efforts of its motivated researchers and staffs, playing an important role in the field of infections diseases of China.
Prof. Deubel left IPS in August 2009, when he was appointed as the Director General of Institut Pasteur of Cambodia. He said: I will never quit China, part of my soul will remain in China for ever. I have met unique people, those who have helped me from the beginning in my mission, those who have trusted me, who had this foreseeing vision of a cooperation of IPS with France. As a Pasteurian, I will always strength the links between people, scientists and friends, for a progress of the science and of the knowledge.
