HM Mrs. Sylvie Bermann, Ambassador of France in China, and Prof. Arnold Munnich, Special Counselor to President Nicolas SARKOZY for biomedicine and health visited the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai (IPS) on June 17, 2011.

Prof. SUN Bing, Co-Director of IPS, briefed research strategy, research focuses and achievements, national and international partnerships at the institute to Mrs. Bermann and Prof. Munnich. Mrs. Bermann and Prof. Munnich visited the Pathogen Diagnostic Center and Anti-viral Immunity and Genetic Therapy Unit in the company of Pr. SUN. A discussion was followed on the main diseases in China, IPS’ special research program on the public health, the international and national collaborations with hospitals, universities etc. Prof. Arnold Munnich suggested IPS to identify good scientists with genetic background for collaboration and enhance the collaboration with French top-level scientists. At the end, Mr. Irenee Robin made a brief presentation of Advance BioChina.
