On November 17th, the Key Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Immunology of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) held its 4th Academic Committee Meeting in Institut Pasteur of Shanghai.

Prof. Bing SUN, Director of the laboratory, presented general report in 2013 including objectives, scientific research, talent development and postgraduate training. Principal Investigators Lubin Jiang and Bin Li reported their team research progress. Principal investigators Bin LI, Jin ZHONG, Xia JIN and Zhen W. CHEN reported the research focuses in representing immunology, HCV, vaccine and tuberculosis areas respectively.

Prof. Xuetao CAO, Chairmen of Academic Committee, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), gave an invited talk on his research achievements and future development strategy in immunology field.

The Academic Committee reviewed the research strategies and talent development of the Laboratory. They suggested that the Laboratory should enhance the cooperation between Institut Pasteur and IPS, to taking the scientific force and international influence advantages of Institut Pasteur to develop IPS strategy.

The Academic Committee also evaluated the applications to the open projects of the laboratory in 2013, and approved two projects for financial support.

The Academic Committee Meeting was chaired by Prof. Xuetao CAO. Other presented members including Prof. Xiaolong LIU from Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Prof. Zhongtian QI from The Second Military Medical University, Prof. Sidong XIONG from Soochow University and Prof. Zhenghong YUAN from Fudan University.
