From January 13th to 15th, 2020, Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPS) successfully presented the Cell Press "New Horizons in B Cell Biology" symposium (NHBCB’2020) in Fengxian District of Shanghai, jointly hosting with Cell Press, Xuhui District Government of Shanghai, CAS Key Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Immunology and Chinese Society for Immunology, Infectious Immunology Branch. About 400 relevant fields’ experts and scholars from more than ten different countries and regions attended the conference. Mr. Yi GU, Deputy Governor of Fengxian District in Shanghai and Ms. Dongying TANG, Director of Fengxian District Science and Technology Committee attended the opening ceremony.
This cutting-edge conference tied together large domains of knowledge related to the biology of B lymphocytes while focusing on the active and frontier-promoting questions that are critical for impactful findings in the field. 31 authoritative scholars from NIH, Harvard Medical, Max-Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine in Germany, Tsinghua University etc. gave wonderful speeches and focused on the domains including the Germinal Center Reaction, Memory B Cells, B Cell Metabolism, Tissue-Resident B Cells and B Cell Subsets, Vaccines, Autoimmunity, and Tolerance. The researchers and participants presented the results and product reports of their respective research fields in the exhibition, and the participants actively participated in the discussion and strongly resonated through the on-site interaction.
The year 2020 represents the 10th year that Cell Press has brought scientific conferences to the community and the 15th anniversary of Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The NHBCB’2020 conference promoted academic exchanges between experts and scholars at home and abroad, brought cross-fertilization of ideas on frontier topics in the biology of B cells, and helped to develop related innovative resource linkage, biomedical and life health industries. The symposium will also contribute to further accelerating the construction of Shanghai Science and Technology Innovation Center and the promotion of the “Belt& Road” Initiative.
