Lanfeng Wang, Ph.D., Professor, Director of Structural Pathogenesis Unit
Dr. Wang obtained his Ph.D. from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2010. He completed postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Diego, then set up a laboratory for independent study in 2016.
Some critical scientific achievements have been made recently, and related work has been published in high-impact journals such as Nature, NSMB, and PNAS. He led one National Key R&D Program of China as the sub-project leader, hosted one Natural Science Foundation project and one Shanghai Talent project, and undertook another National Key R&D Program of China and one Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
· The structural basis of the complex between virus proteins and host factors (RNA polymerase II, Transcription factors, et al), which transcriptionally regulate virus replication. (Such as HBV, HIV, et al)
· Structural analysis to identify key interfaces, active sites and design high specific inhibitors or antibodies to prevent or cure certain diseases.
